Privacy Policy

At Community Land Trust of Palm Beach County, we consider the privacy of our visitors to be extremely important. This privacy policy document describes in detail the types of personal information collected and recorded by our website and how we use it.

We collect the following types of information about you:

Information You Provide Us Directly – We ask for certain information such as your name, address and email address when you sign-up to receive our newsletter or make a donation. We use this information to correspond with you.

Analytics Information – We may directly collect analytics data or use third-party analytics tools and services, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for our website. These tools collect information sent by your browser or mobile device, including the pages you visit and other information that assists us in improving the site. We collect and use this analytics information in aggregate form such that it cannot be reasonably manipulated to identify any particular individual user.

Log File Information – Each time you access our website, log file information is automatically reported by your browser or mobile device, and recorder by our server. Log files may include anonymous information such as your web request, Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring / exit pages, and number of clicks. We use this information to analyze how you interact with the site, so we can identify trends and make improvements.

Cookies Information – When you visit our website, we may send a cookie – a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters – to your computer. The cookie uniquely identifies your browser to help you log-in faster and navigate more easily through the site. A cookie may also convey information to us about how you use the site (e.g. the pages you view and the links you click) and allow us to track your usage of the site over time. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the site may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.

Web Beacons – We may use web beacons to anonymously track the online usage patterns of our website visitors. We may also use web beacons in HTML-based emails sent to our members and supporters to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. This information allows us to more accurately report on and improve our outreach and communication activities.

Device Identifiers – When you access our website by or through a mobile device (e.g. smartphone or tablet), we may access, collect, monitor or store one or more “device identifiers”. A device identifier is a small data file stored on or associated with your device, which uniquely identifies it. A device identifier may convey information to us about how you browse and use our website. A device identifier may remain on your device to help you log-in faster and navigate through the site more easily. Some features of the site may not function properly if use or availability of device identifiers is impaired or disabled.

Location Data – When you access our website by or through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor or store “location data”, which may include GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude or longitude) or similar information about the location of your device. Location data may convey information to us about how you browse and use our website. Some features of the site may not function properly if use or availability of location data is impaired or disabled.

Outreach and Communication Activities – We use the information we collect or receive, such as your email address, to communicate directly with you. We may send you emails containing newsletters, invitations to meetings or events, receipts for donations, or fundraising appeals. If you do not want to receive such email messages, you will be given the option to opt-out or change your preferences.

Sharing of Your Information – We will not rent or sell your information to third parties outside of our website without your consent.

Storage and Processing – Your information collected through our website will be stored and processed in the United States. We do not transfer information that we collect about you, including personal information, to any entities or third parties to other countries or jurisdictions around the world.

Keeping Your Information Safe – We care about the security of your information and use commercially reasonable safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected through our website. However, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to our website or guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

Compromise of Information – In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Your Choices About Your Information – You may update your information and email communication preferences at any time by contacting Christina Hewitt at chewitt@cltofpbc.org or 561.318.8442. Please refer to your browser’s or mobile device’s technical information for instructions on how to delete and disable cookies and other tracking/recording tools. Doing so may disable some of the features available through our website.

Children’s Information – Our website does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13. Our website and its content are not directed at children under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact Christina Hewitt at chewitt@cltofpbc.org or 561.318.8442.
